You must notice that the letter started with ‘Q’, there is a ‘U’ by the ‘Q’. For example quick, quite, queen, quake etc.

If it is unknown, let’s know the mystery why the letter ‘q’ always comes with a ‘u’.

Actually the letter ‘q’ came from French dictionary to English. The Norman take this word in English vocabulary first. There was no existence of this letter to the English before Norman Empire in 1066. The Norman took some change in abbreviation of some English words following French language.

But the French use ‘Q’ instead of ‘K’. Actually the Latin people used ‘Q’ instead of ‘KW’. The Roman used three signs ‘Gamma’, ‘Kappa’, and ‘Koppa’. ‘C’ and ‘G’ has come from ‘Gamma’. And ‘Q’ has come from ‘K’ and ‘Koppa’. We had to go back long to know the history of ‘Q’.
